Making Putiputi
Last week on Thursday made Harekeke flax to celebrate Maori language week and we made Putiputi (flowers). It was so much fun but we had to be careful because if touched something without washing our hands, the next person to touch that place would get sick and would get really itchy.
First we folded the flax in half. Then we made a little hole with our finger nails and took off some extra parts of the flax and took it off. After that we took the part of flax on our left and folded under the piece on our right and then we did that step and did that step with the piece of flax on the right hand side until there is no flax sticking out in front of our face.
Going to Tristar
Today room 13 went to Tristar with room 9. When we got there, we saw the coaches that were going to teach us, Ashley and Cane. First we did a warm up and we played musical statues. The music was called "Who let the dogs out?" It was so much fun doing the warm up but doing the real thing was better! There was a really long trampoline that we jumped on and then land into a motorbike shape. There was also a place that is called cylinder and you had to roll your whole body on until you got to two metal bars.
